IN HONOR OF COLLEGE BASKETBALL’S MARCH MADNESS, WHAT TEAM’S MASCOT HAS THE NAME OF A FAMOUS THOROUGHBRED RACEHORSE?

College Basketball’s “March Madness” is approaching. Of all the schools with basketball teams many of their mascots have names of Thoroughbred racehorses. Cornell University and Denison are called the Big Red (Secretariat). Others are the Royals (Royal Delta) or Thunder (Thunder Rumble). The famous horse we are seeking has three colleges that use his name. University of North Carolina (Charlotte), Long Beach State College (CA) and Yuba College (CA), They all are called the 49ers. The horse we are looking for is Forty Niner trained by the great Hall of Famer Woody Stephens.
