A NATIONAL BRAND FOR FANS
Like most grassroots organizations, there never is enough time or money to develop the perfect marketing or business plan. Usually, the passion of organization leaders drives the entity forward with hopes that success will follow. Yet, all along ThoroFan knew without these, our success would be limited.
A year ago, a racing enthusiast who also happens to be a successful corporate communication and marketing expert, found ThoroFan. Her name is Michelle Merlot. Excited about the mission of ThoroFan, she was confronted with our need to brand our organization on the national level.
The first annual ThoroFan Awards Brunch provided a new perspective. Brainstorming led to new goals. We needed to create a "need to join mentality" among racing fans. Although annual dues are very low, potential members want to know what a member gets for joining ThoroFan. We needed to define our brand more succinctly.
To that end, we have formed a national Marketing Committee to help us. If you or anyone you know would like to join us on this new committee please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be convening this committee in early March. Our goal is to polish our brand and have a launch by Breeders' Cup weekend at Santa Anita.
