WHAT TRAINER HAS WON ALL THREE TRIPLE CROWN RACES WITH DIFFERENT HORSES IN THE SAME YEAR?

With the Belmont Stakes just a week ago we were inundated with discussion of horses that just missed the Triple Crown. Twenty-three horses have the honor of winning the first two legs but losing the Belmont Stakes. We have all probably memorized the names of the 13 horses that have won the Triple Crown. But have you ever thought about a trainer that has won the Triple Crown races in the same year with different horses? There is only one and he is still racing today. He has also won 14 individual Triple Crown race and he led all trainers with this stat until this year when Bob Baffert surpassed him. His record contains a win in the 1995 Kentucky Derby with Thunder Gulch, the 1995 Preakness Stakes with Timber Country and the 1995 Belmont Stakes with Thunder Gulch. Of course, the trainer we are looking for is D. Wayne Lukas.
