WHAT WAS THE LAST HORSE TO WIN THE EMPIRE CLASSIC TWICE?

 Three horses since the inception of the Empire Classic have won the race twice. The last one to do it was Haynesfield (2009 and 2011). He was ridden by retired jockey Ramon Dominguez. The other two were Spite the Devil ( 2004 and 2005) ridden Javier Castellano. The third won it with different riders. Gander won it in 2002 ridden by Richard Migliore and in 1999 ridden by Robbie Davis.
