It was tied in 1965 by Cornish Prince ridden by Ron Turcotte, Secretariat’s pilot. The record for the current distance of 1 1/8 miles was set in 1996 by Louis Quatorze ridden by Pat Day and trained by Hall of Fame trainer, Nick Zito.
