WHO WAS THE FIRST HORSE TO WIN ALL THREE GRADED STAKES RACES FOR 2-YEAR-OLDS AT SARATOGA

Only four horses have won ALL three graded stakes races for 2-year-olds at Saratoga. The races are the Sanford Stakes, the Saratoga Special Stakes and the Hopeful Stakes. The first leg of this accomplishment this year starts on July 21st with the Sanford Stakes. The Saratoga Special Stakes is run 22 days after the Sanford STakes on August 12th . With another 22 day breather the Hopeful is run on September 3rd . The three races are run within a 6 week range. It is a tiring challenge for these babies. Regret won the three in 1914. Campfire followed by doing it two years later in 1916. Then decades later Dehere won the three races in 1993. The last horse to win all three races was City City in 2000.
