Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association announced the changes in the graded stakes races for 2021. There are 445 graded stakes for 2021. Of those, 100 are grade one races or 22.5% of total. Only one race was upgraded to grade one level from 2020 to 2021. The race is the Saratoga Derby Invitational Stakes (T). It is now a GRADE I RACE. The race is the middle leg of NYRA’s Turf Trinity. The series starts with the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes and ends with the Jockey Club Derby.
