The Princess Rooney Stakes will be run this weekend at Gulfstream Park. It was first run in 1985. It is a Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” race for the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. It is a seven-furlong race on the dirt track. It was not run in 2020 because of COVID. In 2019 it was won by Stormy Embrace who won the precious year, as well. Although the race is carded as a race for 3-year-olds and up only two horses have won it at three. The last to do it was Sweet Proud Polly in 1990. The first to do it in 1986 came back to win it in 1987. The horse was Classy Tricks trained by Ron Felix.
