Kentucky Downs Race Track is unique in many ways which also makes it very fan friendly. It proclaims to be one of the shortest Thoroughbred racing meets in North America. It races only in September for five days of live racing. The track is an all turf track using a European style layout. The mile and five-sixteenth’s track is one of the largest inn the country. Setting it aside from other tracks even more is its undulation course where races are run up and down hills. It is, also, one of two tracks in the United States that offers a challenging slight turn. The other is the Santa Anita downhill turf spring course. Finally, the track does not have a traditional grandstand. Fans are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets. This unique track makes for an interesting day of racing and is on the “bucket list” for many racetrack goers.
